International Terminal Solutions have added an external Automated Trucker Identification system (ATI) to the existing Truck ID system. The system facilitates the automatic identification of the external truckers and internal truck heads, containers carried, the positions the containers are on the chassis, and planned positions in the container yard.

ATI is based on the already proven ITS Infrared truck ID system to provide a seamless post gate automated data transfer and container movement confirmation system. ITS have also integrated this system successfully with an interlock to stop yard movements being carried out incorrectly, and preventing containers including high security or suspect cargo being misidentified or placed in the wrong location.

The paperless and keyboard free system leaves no scope for yard operatives to misidentify the containers or yard locations. This ensures full data integrity allowing the terminal to plan with confidence for the optimum stack locations, increased density and reduce the yard checking and number of re-handles.

ITS are also developing this system to allow automated pre gate identification. Where regular truckers using a terminals web based appointment system can be issued with their own unique encrypted ID to speed up the gate processing system.

VESSEL/YARD MOVE PLANNED
A container is discharged from a vessel or is ready to be loaded. Truck ID is confirmed and heads of in to the yard.
Internal trucks installed with automatic ID transmitter
TRUCK ARRIVES AT THE GATE
Details are entered into the planning system and the driver is issued with an iTS hand held unit
Hand held units racked in the gatehouse
IN THE YARD
A container move instruction is sent to the RTG as the truck driver travels to the destignated yard location
RTG system automatically receives move data and scans for truck
INTERNAL TRUCK ARRIVES AT RTG
The head truck arrives at the RTG and automatically transmits it's ID and position on truck if carrying 2 X 20' containers
RTG automatically detects the move to be performed.
IN THE STACK
The truck driver points the hand held unit at the RTG, RTG automatically identifies truck, container and planned yard location
RTG automatically detects the move to be performed
THE CLEVER BIT
RTG system checks the move is valid and for the correct container. The system will only allow the move to be performed if it is to the correct yard location
RTG checks all details automatically prior to allowing move to proceed
