Maersk Espana SA orders Automated truck ID system (April 2004)
Maersk have ordered the ITS automatic truck ID systems for it's internal fleet of 120 IMVs and 46 RTG container cranes. The system has been developed to reduce the number of double handled moves and increase the yard density whilst maintaining high levels of productivity. The system works by positively identifying the IMV and automatically matching the container move. This is then automatically checked against the actual yard positions and will only allow the crane to place or pick up containers where the planning system has defined. The external truck moves are also controlled in the same way with the use of a hand held ID unit.
The system has also been linked to the ITS ISPS compliant security solution, allowing only athorised operations by authorised personnel giving full visibility and traceability.

Future
growth and developments predicted. (December 2002)
International Terminal Solutions Limited are pleased to announce
the purchase of the Ports and Terminals business from Savoye
Logistics SA. The sale includes the Port Automation equipment,
systems and support division, various web sites and Morris
Port Automation. International Terminal Solutions Limited

management to facilitate the smooth transfer of the business
providing a seamless transfer for our existing customers and
ensuring that the key skills were maintained.
Jakarta
International Container Terminal invests in the future with
Hi-Tec training systems for operations staff (October 2002)
Recognising that investments in automation, and development
of your staff is a business wining formula. JICT have selected
the simulator training suite from ITS. The Training suite
is a full off-line system allowing training of operators and
maintenance staff. The system allows for full connection to
the Terminal Operation System (on or off-line) to provide
a safe non-disruptive training environment managed by the
simulator computer.
Termina1
expands with 9 more RTG systems (September 2002)
To manage the anticipated increase in volumes JICT have ordered
9 "PDS Ready" RDT systems for RTG container operations.
RDS
for empty handlers at Terminal 1 (July 2002)
Terminal operators JICT select our graphical touch screen
systems for the empty operation at Terminal 1. The Systems

to yard and dock RDS system keep the operations in touch with
real-time operations.
Vessel
traffic up at Super Hub (May 2002)
APM Terminals have ordered 3 Quay control systems to help
with increased vessel traffic and additional handling equipment.
The Quay Control System amongst other features handles twin
twenty loads and discharges with the checker able to define
the vessel bays used. The Quay Control System will then create
new graphical work lists from the existing container data,
pairing any container lifts that can be made into a twin lift
as defined by the bay information.
APM
Terminals order systems for 9 RTGs (January 2002)
APMT selects our container and equipment tracking systems
for 9 new RTG's purchased for their Mediterranean transshipment
super hub. With our "systems ready approach" the
systems supplied link directly in to the existing Radio Data
and Terminal Planning system providing and instant return
on the investment.
JICT,
Indonesia modernise yard and vessel operations. (October 2001)
JICT, a member of the Hutchinson Port Holdings group, and
one of the fastest growing terminals in the world, in a drive
to modernise, select our systems for mission critical operations.
The systems installed on 25 Rubber Tyred Gantry cranes and
10 Quay cranes provides work instruction data to the operators
and move confirmation details, interfacing to the HPH Container
Terminal Management System used by the yard and ship planners.
The RTG installation is "PDS Ready" and can be quickly
upgraded to provide automatic position data. The system has
been implemented in a phased structured approach to suite
the terminals operator training program.
On the quayside, a windows based system for vessel operations
and incorporates enhanced features including move information
directly to the tractor / trailer operators while under the
quay crane.
Quay
efficiency the key in straddle operation (September 2001)
If you drop the container off center at the Quay crane is
this a problem? You bet it is! That is why we were asked to
implement a system to stop the straddle carrier "right
first time" on 5 quay cranes and 18 straddle carriers.
Not only will the system position right first time but it
also aligns 2 straddle carriers for a twin lift, operated
in any 2 of the 3 lanes simultaneously, and provided a slow/stop
and reverse signal to the Straddle operator.
